About M5 Traffic

M5 Traffic is part of UK Traffic News, an independent network of websites that specialise in traffic news, information and updates, published by Corporate Ace Limited.

Our central traffic and road news site for England is Traffic News England and we have a growing number of websites that specialise in the busiest motorways and A roads in the UK.

Our websites aim to provide focused, topic-specific useful information for our users.

M5 Traffic is one of our newer websites.

We have been publishing traffic news sites since 2009, so we have been doing this now for over 15 years.

Our well-established websites have thousands of visitors and users a day, with a large proportion of the users return or regular users. The UK Traffic News network had over 4 million page views in the 12 months to August 2026.

Our websites have recently received a major facelift.

We are heavily focused on being user-friendly. Approximately 80% or more of our users are viewing our website on their mobile phones. Our designs therefore focus on presenting traffic information in a mobile-friendly way that is easy to use on a mobile phone.

The traffic news is refreshed and updated at least every 5 minutes, 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day.

As M5 Traffic is focused on current live news for today and now, we don't publish the traffic news via our Facebook or X (formerly Twitter) accounts, as otherwise as soon as an accident, incident or roadworks are cleared the news would become stale and out of date.

We only use reliable sources for our traffic or other news. For England that is National Highways.

What We Do

We take live current traffic data from National Highways and present it clearly, so you can see what is happening on the M5 without wading through a national feed. Our pages refresh throughout the day and night.

The layout of our news items is designed to make the news quick, clear and easy to read.

We realise that you might not want all the M5 news, or want to wade through lists of news. So, on all our sites including on M5 Traffic, news items can be filtered easily to find the news for the direction or between what junctions you intend to drive.

Traffic and road information is also featured on topic-specific pages. For example, the “All News” page (as you will see it on mobile) or "Latest M5 Traffic News" (on desktop) features the latest current traffic and roadworks on the M5 today, now, and refreshed at least every 5 minutes.

The roadworks page focuses on roadworks.

Our M5 map pages aim to help you visualise or see the M5 junctions and other information such as interconnecting motorways and major towns along the motorway.

Services pages are about the service stations along the M5 where you can get fuel, charge your EV, food, or take a break.

Sister Sites

Our central hub site for England is TrafficNewsEngland.co.uk, where you can find all the motorways in England and the major A roads traffic information.

Our motorway-specific sites exist because it makes it easier for commuters or other regular users of specific motorways to find quickly and easily just the traffic news for the motorway you are interested in, for your M5 commute to work or specific M5 journey.

Our current motorway-specific sites for motorways that connect to the M5 are the M6 and M4.
